Joy’s expertise is in technical writing. She confidently designs and produces user guides, reference manuals, release notes, press releases, and functional specifications. Her talent lies in turning the difficult, technical lingo of the developer into plain, easy-to-read English for the end user/audience. In addition to technical documents, she enjoys writing newsletters, conducting interviews and sharing success stories. 

Her career started in the hotel industry where she traveled worldwide installing software at big name hotels and conducting training sessions for up to 50+ employees. She effortlessly acclimated herself to the business practices of the customer, which made her a favorite among the client base. Joy then branched into sales & marketing and traveled with company representatives directing technical presentations and honing her skills in public relations. She became proficient in quality assurance testing, on-site customer support, desktop publishing, technical writing and more. Joy has now been writing technical and marketing documents for over 10 years, the last 8 working from her home-based office as a contractor.

A sojourn into the retail industry gave Joy the experience of buying and selling merchandise. She excelled at creating and maintaining marketing plans and soon found her niche in creating and distributing ads, brochures and flyers. Continually faced with short-notice deadlines and last-minute changes, she succeeded in fulfilling the clients’ needs every time. 

Joy lives in Huntington Beach, California with her husband and 2 children; enjoys decorating the interior of her newly refurbished home, teaching yoga to children, teens and adults, traveling through Europe and Mexico and eating a good home-cooked meal.
